The olive oil of the Intera. A story from my grandmother that has always impressed me. L'intera: a plot of land, in Raiano, cultivated with olive trees. She used to tell me that it had been left as a dowry to her mother-in-law's grandmother, Luisa, who in turn had given it to her daughter Edvige, to pass it on to my great-grandmother Luisa, who having had two boys, had left it to her favourite daughter-in-law Concettina. Two boys, two daughters-in-law, my mother and then me. An oil, which had saved the family during the difficult times of the war, an olive grove that never betrayed. I, the sixth generation of women to cultivate it, with love, sacrifice and respect for my ancestors, want to call it ‘DONNA LUISA’.
